Background
I grew up in Boyle Heights, California located just outside Downtown Los Angeles. I went to a normal public high school, where I excelled in science and math. I was a scholar athlete, pitching on the Varsity Softball team for my second passion. After graduating from Roosevelt Hight School (GO ROUGH RIDERS!). I made the journey to Humboldt State University, where culture shock hit me hard. After much debate I transferred to East Los Angeles College, a community college. I worked hard on my studies and gained the courage to attend California State University, Monterey Bay (Otter Love Monterey Bay!). My passion for science exploded while I was there. I learned from amazing mentors and have strived ever since to be a great mentor to everyone I mean.
Through adversity I have learned that we as a community must learn with each other, All Lives Matter. Everyone has a story. It is our job to listen and hear them.

Outside of Academia
I have a passion for gardening, crocheting, hiking, and camping. I love growing my families vegetables and providing blankets, scarves, and hats.
Alli, Lab Organizer
Alli, the lab organizer. I love bringing people from different walks of life together. Throughout my graduate career I created multiple poster sessions, fun lab outings, simple coffee hours, and most famously birthday celebrations. Describing who I am without showing off my passion for people would be a fallacy. Below is a photo gallery of all the fun and hiking events enjoy!
